Fenwick, Camp Hopson and Elys ‘Meet the maker’

Peter Dunne, managing director of CellarDine says he is receiving “fantastic feedback” for his latest round of ‘Meet the maker’ events, including Fenwick Colchester, Elys of Wimbledon (last week) and Camp Hobson in Newbury.

At the events, Peter demonstrates CellarDine’s barware gadgets while talking about his journey in inventing and developing the products. “I get a tremendous response from the public and staff who go away educated and informed, and often return to make purchases.”

The successful format has been running for twenty plus years and Peter notes that some consumers come back year on year to hear more! He currently conducts about 25 ‘Meet the maker’ events annually in department stores across the UK, with TV Home shopping presenter, Malcolm Harrodine also involved with some demonstrations.

Peter adds: “It is important to support departments stores and provide an engaging format for consumers with the opportunity to learn about the design process and try products for themselves. Consumers are delighted to get the chance to meet the designers behind the product and for me it’s a superb way to get direct feedback from the public. It’s also hugely enjoyable!”

The evening event at Fenwick Colchester on November 8 resulted in a sell-out of selected products highlighted by Peter. Assisting with the event was Fenwick’s Nan Parkes (whose extensive housewares knowledge and customer service acumen is the result of some 42 years at the Colchester store).
