Slow juicing is among this summer’s health kicks, according to UK Juicer’s Nick Ledger. An ambassador for healthy living, Nick founded UK Juicers after overcoming ulcerative colitis with a natural and nutritional approach.
The rising popularity of slow juicing reflects an increasing recognition of its benefits. “Juicing at a slow speed of 60rp, keeps the juice cool, retaining high levels of nutrients and minerals,” explains Nick. “Plus, because the slow chewing action prevents oxygen entering the juice, it stays fresh for longer.”
The Kuvings EVO 820 is UK Juicer’s bestselling slow juicer, reports Nick. The juicer’s high quality performance was recognised in juicing tests by the Good Housekeeping Institute earlier this year. The GHI’s Expert Review deemed the model easy to use, robust and particular good for apple juice, stating: ‘It’s a premium product at a premium price, but it’s worth considering if you can stretch your budget.’ The GHI also praised the juicer’s speed: “Despite being called a slow juicer, the longest we had to wait for juice was just over two and a half minutes, which is fast!’
Men’s Health applauded the new trend for slow juicing in an article earlier this ear. The healthy living magazine acknowledged that slow juicers ‘direct more fibrous pulp into your glass, offsetting many of sugar’s negatives while aiding weight loss.’
