NEW Issue of Progressive Housewares out now

The March/April edition of Progressive Housewares is out now, offering a positive read full of news, new products and sector-focuses.

Our annual Retail Barometer comes at a strange time, but does reach retailers and suppliers at a time of reflection. Which category showed growth for 67% of independent cookshops and housewares retailers in 2019? What were the most positive and negative influences on businesses last year? What is the biggest wish for indies? Delve into the fascinating insights of the 15th Retail Barometer, presented by Progressive Housewares in conjunction with Bira.

This issue also sees the introduction of a brand new retailer profile feature: ‘Shelf Portrait’ debuts with an interview with Gliddons Corner Cookshop.

Screen Shot 2020-03-31 at 14.23.51What’s looking good on the hob and in the oven? Take a look at PH’s annual market focus on Cookware trends and development. While the next generation of cooks and bakers are the focus of our Kids in the kitchen feature.

Consumers are currently confined to barracks and one small-mercy is an opportunity to enjoy eating together each day – with that PH looks at trends that top the table. On the hard-end of confinement, retailer Holly Wilson gives her account of the events leading up to the UK lockdown, writing as PH went to press.

With so much having happened in recent weeks, it’s easy to forget just how short-a-time ago the trade-show season was – PH takes a look back at some highlights from Spring Fair and Ambiente.

Plus ten packed pages of news, including from our trade associations, BHETA and Bira.

Please do get in touch with your feedback to anything in this exciting issue and indeed any topics you would like raised in the next issue. Now more than ever is a time to communicate and as the central media to the housewares sector, we are here to offer that platform.
