Indie strategies for success – listen now

Chicago’s The Inspired Home Show 2020’s educational sessions (planned for the show’s Innovation Theatre and Smart Talks stage) are being presented as free webinars. Today’s webinar (Tuesday May 26, 5pm GMT / 12 noon CST) is aimed at independent housewares and home retailers. It is called: “The FASTR Formula: A New Strategy for Success and Growth in a Changing Marketplace,” presented by Tom Mirabile, principal and founder of the trend services firm Springboard Futures and consumer trend forecaster for IHA (International Housewares Association).

Tom explores the core drivers of consumer engagement and retention and looks beyond the markups and margins, forecasts and fixturing, competitors
and calendars. He reveals the essential, adoptable behaviours and attitudes that are at the core of today’s most successful retailers and service providers.  The ‘roadmap’ that he calls the FASTR Guide to Relevance and Success stands for:

F-Flexible, A- Aspirational, S- Simple, T- Trustworthy, R- Reactive.

*Tom returns to the IHA’s webinar stage next week on Thursday June 4*, presenting: “*2020 Vision: A New Focus on the Now & Envisioning the Next Normal*—The Realities and Mindsets Mapping the Road to 2030.”

Show w IHAIn this new session, Tom provides an update to his Show keynote address (presented online and now available on TheInspiredHomeShow.com) given changes presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The session looks at the world’s ‘recovering and reinventing atmosphere’ where ‘consumers have never been more diverse, demanding or complex.’

Influence (and affluence) are shared across four generations with distinctly different desires and expectations., according to Tom. More importantly, the next decade promises dramatic changes in both the shape and composition of the home environment, creating an enduring surge in demand for new solutions and innovations.
