Jade Johnston, director of Market Harborough’s The Kitchen Range Cookshop is among those counting down to a grand reopening from April 12. However, she will be keep going with one lockdown habit as her product videos for Facebook and Instagram have been a huge success.
Jade has been picking products (including Microplane, Joseph Joseph’s Mandoline, a garlic press and spiraliser) and showing how she uses them. Her subsequent short video posts on social media have prompted sales via click and collect.
“People realise why particular gadgets are worth the price when they see me using them,” states Jade. She adds: “I will carry on with this after lockdown; I can tell people to watch the videos and it saves lots of time explaining.”
Excitement is mounting in the run-up to reopening, observes Jade: “Our click and collect customers are telling us they can’t wait to come to the shop when we reopen.”
She enthuses: “It will be so nice to have customers back inside, and to have some new stock. I hope there will be more new launches coming out – it’s what keeps customers coming in.”
Jade also acknowledges a surge in support from customers: “So many people are trying to support local independents to make sure we’re here when life gets back to normal.”
