Mary queen of cookbooks

GreenPan has proclaimed that Mary Berry is the most successful UK chef, based on the popularity of cookbooks. The cookware brand collated a comprehensive list of 10 popular celebrity chefs from the UK, sourcing a list of all their cookbooks available to buy. Reviews for the cookbook were collected from Amazon.

Coming top in the ranking, Mary Berry’s cookbooks have an average review score of 4.7 out of 5, out of a massive 37,899 reviews.  The much-loved celebrity has written more than 50 cookbooks in her long career.

In second place is James Martin with 4.68, closely followed by Rick Stein.  At the bottom of the top ten is Heston Blumenthal, with an average score of 4.53 out of 5 for 13 cookbooks.

Of all the books included in the data, the highest rated title was Delia Smith’s A Feast for Lent, with an impressive 4.9 out of 5. 

The lowest rating of all the books was 3.5, given to Gordon Ramsay’s At His Best, and his Fish and Shellfish. 

Despite coming 8th in the rankings, Jamie Oliver has the highest number of average monthly searches for his 5 Ingredients: Quick and Easy Foodwith approximately 6,600 searching for the title per month in the UK.   Jamie also received the most reviews (40,048for his 22 cookbooks. 

The other celebrity chefs in the top ten were Gino D’Acampo, Ainsley Harriott and Nigella Lawson.
