Abraxas Cookshop is celebrating its 26th anniversary this week, having opened on July 12 1996 at Heart of the Shires Shopping Village, Weedon, Northamptonshire. The retailer is providing customers with an array of celebratory offers.
The Heart of the Shires Cookshop is now based on the top floor of the old dutch barn, leading on to Abraxas China & Glass, while its original space is home to The Garden Room and Food for Thought, also run by Abraxas founders Helen Sparrow and Sarah George. Since the 90s, Abraxas has expanded into the high street with cookshops in Banbury, Rugby and Northampton.
Thanking their “amazing teams” and loyal customers, sisters Helen and Sarah acknowledge: “It’s never been more important to support your local shops.”
They state:” Sometimes it’s forgotten that we are a family run independent business. Every day we are here working to keep up with trends while focused on our original values: we simply want to provide our customers with beautiful and useful products within a relaxed enjoyable environment, creating a wonderful shopping experience.”
Also dedicated to making Abraxas an exceptional retailer both in-stores and online, Sarah’s daughter Abby George joined the business in 2003 as a general member of staff and became the first general manager in 2013.
