Sophie Allport unveils new National Trust collection

Marking its fifth anniversary working with the National Trust, Sophie Allport continues to support the charity’s conservation work with the new collection.

Sophie Allport will be launching a new range with the National Trust called Acorn & Oak Leaves on 14 August, 2023.

Blending the heritage of the National Trust’s logo with Sophie’s love of nature, the autumnal collection features an oak leaf design on fresh natural kitchen and table linens, as well as serving stoneware.

The oak leaf is synonymous with the National Trust and the places in its care. Reflecting this on the new range, provides a reminder of the nature and beauty the charity looks after.

One of the National Trust’s responsibilities is to care for ancient trees. Ranging from 150 years old to 800 years or more, the trees contribute to the UK’s history and culture.

Sophie Allport, designer and founder, commented: “With it being our fifth year working with the National Trust, this collection feels extra special. My brother Jem and I explored many National Trust places as children and having since returned with families of our own, it is a delight to continue to work alongside and support the charity in their conservation work.

“I thoroughly enjoyed hand painting all the acorn and oak leaf motifs seen on this design. We’ve gone for a slightly larger scale than usual which we felt allowed more detail to show through on the oak leaves and the acorns. The design ahs translated beautifully onto the kitchen and table linens. We want this collection to help bring the outside in, giving the home a comforting feel after a brisk, blustery autumn walk in the woods.”

Emma Prendergast from the National Trust, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Sophie and her team again. The oak leaf is central to our National Trust brand and represents not only our heritage and traditions, but our belief in nature, growth and most importantly, access for everyone, for ever.

“We look forward to Sophie’s customers being able to bring a small piece of the Trust into their home and can’t wait to see what else is in store for the future, as our collaboration grows from strength to strength.”

In total, Sophie Allport has raise £175,000 for the National Trust to date, and this year, 10% of net sales and a minimum of £20,000 from these collections will be given to the National Trust.
