Sostrene Grene reports outstanding financial year

The retailer has reported a turnover of 1,797.138 DKK – around £208,000 – as it plans to open its first central London store.

The Retail Bulletin has reported that the homewares retailer, which is currently undergoing expansion in the UK, is planning to add around 100 stores to its portfolio over the next two and a half years, and is aiming for a 3 billion DKK turnover (£350 million) by 2023-24.

Alongside UK expansion, the retailer is increasing its presence in a number of other territories, with new websites set to launch in Austria, Belgium, Ireland and Switzerland this year.

As Sostrene Grene celebrates its 50th year in business, it’s also planning the opening of a new 5,000 sq ft store on Tottenham Court Walk. The flagship store, spanning two floors, will mark its debut in central London.

Ceo and owner, Mikkel Grene, commented: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our inaugural central London store in the Tottenham Court Road area. This is a pivotal moment for our brand as we continue to expand the world of Sostrene Grene.”
