The Range resurrects Wilko website

The wilko.com website has begun trading again under its new owner, The Range.

The site is offering thousands of product lines in a marketplace format. The Range has said that new products will be added to the site daily and own-brand Wilko products will appear in its stores nationwide at the end of the month.

Ben Exall, chief digital officer for Wilko, said: “Following the acquisition of the Wilko brand and website by the Range, what we’re working towards here is an opportunity to save an important part of the Wilko brand that people know, love and trust and, to represent that on wilko.com where both new and loyal hardworking families will be able to find great value products to meet their everyday household and garden needs.

“As a team delivering the digital transformation at wilko.com, we’re committed to continuing the three pillars of the brand’s previous acceleration strategy – delivering on convenience, improving mobile experience and building lasting customer relationships.”

The very first item to be bought following the launch of the site, was a Wham Crystal Storage Box. Lorraine Biggs, direct sales manager at What More, commented: “It’s been a tough year for Wilko, and Wham Direct continued to offer support through this difficult period. We’ve had an a very positive online partnership for more than six years and so I was saddened, particularly for their staff, when their closure was announced.

“It’s awesome that the very first product sold on the newly relaunched website is a Wham product, manufactured in the UK, from our best-selling Crystal range. I look forward seeing many more orders fulfilled and sharing in Wilko.com’s future success.”
