BHETA reboots credit forum programme

BHETA is kicking off its 2024 credit forum programme, in which suppliers can discuss trading issues with key retailers and routes to market, with a new advisory partner.

Hosted by BHETA on Zoom, the new programme starts with a housewares and small electricals session on 23 January with Brent Cumming from Let’s Talk Credit, supported by credit experts from Attis Credit Insurance Brokers and PwC.

The programme then continues with specific sessions for DIY and gardening, and housewares and small electricals alternating bi-monthly throughout the year. All sessions are free for BHETA members to attend.

The programme is aimed at any company concerned about retailers not paying to terms, retailers’ credit risk status, or credit insurance for a retailer. The sessions are very interactive and aimed at sharing experience for the greater good. Sessions cover regulatory updates, retailer announcements, insurance and Q&A.

BHETA credit forums are open to credit control and finance professionals. The agenda always includes current trading climate, specific retail accounts and how they are performing against trading terms; topical issues such as corporate purchases and reinvestment; as well as a general overview of the retail sector.

Will Jones, BHETA’s coo, commented: “In the current financial climate, many businesses need help managing their credit risk. Our forum brings together industry experts and members to gain a shared understanding of the current market and customer challenges, with the objective of finding effective solutions. The turnout for these events just rises all the time and the atmosphere is always friendly, collaborative, and positive.”
