Ambiente explores Taiwanese and Japanese design

On 4 September 2024, Ambiente will be hosting a free webinar exploring design trends and architecture in the regions.

The webinar will explore how innovative and successful design concepts from Taiwan and Japan can transform small retail stores and cafés into internationally recognised spaces. From Japanese design trends to Taiwanese architecture, speakers Johnny Chiu and Eisuke Tachikawa will show attendees how culture and design can lead to innovative solutions.

In the webinar with Johnny Chiu, founder of JC. Architecture & Design and Eisuke Tachikawa, ceo/founder of NOSIGNER, attendees will learn how creative design and sustainable practices can strengthen their brand and provide future-proof solutions.

The webinar, organised in cooperation with the TDRI (Taiwan Design Research Institute), will also look at how design practices from Asia are giving rise to successful and impressive projects through the integration of cultural elements and ‘Evolutional Creativity’. From the circular economy to renewable energy and climate adaptation, these experts will provide practical examples of ways to combine design and sustainability.

Johnny Chiu and Eisuke Tachikawa will introduce their unique approaches and projects in the field of Japanese and Taiwanese design.

Johnny Chiu will present his experiences and projects in the field of cultural integration in design and show how cultural elements can create unique and appealing designs. Using real-life projects, such as the transformation of a small retail store into a popular museum shop through design and the development of an internationally recognised café, he will demonstrate how creative design can lead to commercial success and global recognition.

Eisuke Tachikawa will provide in-depth insights into sustainable design practices and use examples to show how design can be implemented to promote the circular economy, renewable energy and climate adaptation. The ‘Evolutional Creativity’ method offers a structured approach to fostering creativity based on the processes of biological evolution. This innovative method helps to develop creative solutions for a sustainable future.
