Polti returns to profitability in 2023

New Products and the revision of production processes has boosted the financial performance of the Polti Group.

After overcoming the most severe effects of the macroeconomic crisis that negatively impacted its 2022 results, the Polti Group closed the 2023 fiscal year with over €60 million in revenue, returning to profitability levels seen prior to the war in Ukraine and the rise in energy prices.

The company also saw an increase in EBITDA reaching €2.5 million.

“We sought to counter the crisis and the uncertainty that characterised the market with a series of actions that allowed the Group to consolidate its competitive position and open up new growth opportunities,” commented Francesca Polti, president and ceo of the Group.

“From the realignment of price lists to targeted investments in the revision of production processes in Italy, adopting the principles of lean manufacturing and the launch of new products in innovative market segments such as kitchen and food & beverage, in 2023 our Group implemented a series of strategic initiatives aimed at significantly improving profitability. However, growth remains hindered by the ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, with interest rates having risen substantially and remaining high.”

In terms of markets, Polti has maintained its leadership in the steam cleaning sector in Italy, France and Spain, as well as in the steam generator iron market in Italy. The bed bugs epidemic (which mainly affected France last year) was a driving factor for the professional-use products market, with the Polti Cimex Eradicator as the key player.

In 2024, geographic expansion will be one of the main focuses, particularly with the development of major European markets such as the UK and Germany with its own subsidiaries, as well as Benelux, Eastern European countries, Poland, Scandinavia, Norway and extra-European markets.

Polti’s recent participation in IFA was a key moment for promoting its products and strengthening the brand’s global presence. It not only confirmed Polti’s strong commitment to geographic expansion but also its intention to position itself as a leader in technological innovation applied to cleaning and home care. This solidifies the company’s competitiveness in major European markets while opening up new growth opportunities worldwide.

In terms of new products, in the second half of 2023, Polti entered the kitchen and food and beverage market with its new Polti Coffea line (coffee machines) and SOLO Caffè Monorigine (coffee available in E.S.E. pods and beans), which will continue to be a focus in the coming months. This strategic expansion was driven by the desire to meet the growing demand for high-quality coffee and enhance the consumer experience.
