The BIG Interview: Thomas Kastl

With just days to go until the housewares industry sets off to Frankfurt for Ambiente, Thomas Kastl, director Ambiente Dining, Messe Frankfurt, gives PH the lowdown on the plans for this year.

While the halls for Ambiente are already fully booked this year, Messe Frankfurt is certainly not resting on its laurels and there are strong plans in place for growth in 2025. Thomas Kastl, director Ambiente Dining, Messe Frankfurt, explains: “We are further expanding the leading position of Ambiente in the dining, kitchen and household sector. As the event halls were already fully booked last year, the growth for 2025 will be mainly in quality: We are going to have more brands and quality suppliers in the halls.

“Our touchstone every year is the satisfaction of both the exhibitors and the visitors. After every trade fair, we analyse the feedback and optimise where needed. The situation for retail is currently challenging. With our high internationality, the top-notch fringe programme, that aligns with the needs of the markets and multiple networking opportunities, we fuel business. That’s why we are acknowledged as a strong partner for the industry that is facing challenges.”
