B&M plans 45 new stores in FY26

B&M has provided an update for the year ending 29 March 2025 (FY25).

Like for like sales for the year for B&M UK were £4.48m, up 3.1% year-on-year. Sales, values and unit volumes in Q4 increased for the UK business on both a like-for-like and total basis.

Over the year, B&M opened 45 gross new UK stores, in line with previous guidance. The new stores are said to be performing in line with the retailer’s expectations and generating strong returns. The pipeline for next year continues to be robust, with 45 new stores expected.

Gross margin was also reported to be robust, helped by total volume growth and relatively stronger trading in general merchandise categories.

The board said it is making progress with the ceo succession and will make an announcement in the coming weeks.
