Ambiente 2020 has opened its doors to eager housewares buyers from around the globe (February 7-11 Messe Frankfurt), with more space devoted to Dining (one of its three sectors, along with Living and Giving). The new hall 6.0 dedicated to HoReCa has created an extended focus on Dining.
“The area that has grown especially at Ambiente is Dining, as hospitality, in particular, is a worldwide growth sector – and indeed one that has been developing at an incredible speed in recent years,” says Detlef Braun, member of the executive board of organiser Messe Frankfurt.
The show has a total of 4,635 exhibitors from 93 countries and last year’s show attracted 136,081 visitors from 168 countries.Messe Frankfurt expected a lower number of Chinese exhibitors compared with Chinese registrations as a result of travel restrictions due to coronavirus.
Commenting on the coronavirus outbreak, Detlef said prior to the show’s opening: “The authorities currently estimate that there is no danger for events on the premises of Messe Frankfurt. Right now, however, company representatives are not permitted to travel to Frankfurt if they come from areas placed under quarantine by the Chinese authorities, such as Wuhan or Hubei.”
Innovations in the Dining halls include Dualit’s new EcoPress Aluminium Capsule Recycler. Compatible for use with all brands, the hand-held EcoPress enables consumers to recycle their aluminium coffee capsules at home. It has a large pusher to ensure capsules are fully inverted, leaving minimal coffee residue behind to be composted or placed into an authorised food waste bin for collection by the council.
Celebrating the company’s 75th anniversary, visitors to Dualit’s stand (3.1 B90) are enjoying toasties from the Dualit Sandwich Cages, with fresh fillings made using the Dualit Hand Blender and Hand Mixer, as well as drinks using the brand’s new aluminium coffee capsules.
Another design highlight, Stelton is celebrating 60 years (Hall 4.0 C10) with its introduction of Foodie, a striking range of pastel coloured SDAs.
Meanwhile, the popularity of home cleaning is evident in the Urban Gifts hall (11.0) with the launch of new Winkee Mop Slippers from Mags. The comfortable overshoes are designed for the wearer to dance around the floor while giving it a clean!
The great many tableware highlights at Ambiente include Rosenthal’s Magic Garden collection, which symbolises the three development stages of plants and flowers, from the black ‘seed’ pattern to colourful blooms.
Meanwhile, LSA International epitomises the popularity of stylish home entertaining with its oak board, which holds both snacks and two glasses.
