Auteur has announced a UK partnership with Canadian eco-focused company Tru Earth, supplying innovative Eco Strips that are reportedly revolutionising the laundry liquid sector.
According to Tru Earth’s ceo Brad Liski, the company is “a movement to eradicate plastic from household products.” Its patented dissolvable eco-friendly laundry strips ditch the need for bulky bottles or boxes of laundry liquid or powder. Brad says (in an interview in Business Focus Magazine) that: “small changes” lead to “a big impact,” stating, “Our goal is for people to help save the planet – not save the planet on their own.”
Over the past year, thousands of enthusiastic UK consumers have been buying Tru Earth and shipping directly from Canada, observes Auteur’s managing director Vivienne Cudahy. She comments: “Tru Earth is a company focused on sustainability, so we are delighted to introduce the UK partnership with Auteur, which now means local fulfilment: better for the environment and consumer.”
With many enquiries from potential retail stockist already, Viv notes that Tru Earth products leave “no trace” and appeal “to everyone who cares about the planet,” as well as benefitting those short on space. “UK homes are shrinking in size, so having a small product is very convenient,” points out Viv, as well as highlighting “the trend for having beautiful organised cupboards.”
Viv states that – with its lightweight, pick-up size, Tru Earth is attracting retailers keen to introduce a replenishment category to engage with repeat shoppers. “We’ve had interest from housewares buyers who are positioning us alongside Utility. But equally we’re getting lots of interest from lifestyle retailers who love the counter top displays, which create great impulse opportunity.”
Being “94% smaller than traditional laundry detergents” also has environmental savings due less transportation needed, notes Viv.
Aueur is also introducing Tru Earth Beeswax Wrap, and Dryer Balls now and will be launching its Multi Surface Cleaner in an Eco Strip in the summer.
