The event begins at 10am and will provide a detailed overview of how to report on waste packaging under the new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations proposed by DEFRA.
Speakers at the webinar include Jo-Anne Campbell, compliance scheme manager; Daisy Malyon, PR & communications executive; and Paul Van Danzig, policy director. The presentation will last around half an hour, with time for a Q&A afterwards.
EPR is a total overhaul of the current PRN system and will involve the most significant change to packaging regulations for a generation. While it is at proposal stage and has not yet passed into law, producers will be required to report data from January 2023 when it does, so will need to know what will be expected. It is also the case that many smaller companies will be affected than previously. Based on the draft legislation the agenda will cover:
- Recap of EPR and obligation types
- Data reporting and packaging types
- Nation reporting
- Registration and reporting timeframes
- Q&A
BHETA marketing director, Steve Richardson commented: “Assuming the legislation passes, all UK producers will have to report on the first half of 2023 using the new EPR framework from July 2023. It is vital that everyone knows what to do and ensures they are part of an appropriate compliance scheme in readiness for their new legal obligations.”
The webinar will be hosted with business service provider, Wastepack, on Friday 10 February, 2023.
