BHETA will host a webinar on Tuesday 19 November at 2pm, presented by Alice Brackenridge, employment law adviser at BHETA’s business support provider, Worknest.
Alice will be covering the significant changes to employment law already introduced in 2024, together with the further changes are on the horizon. This will include the Labour Government’s employment-related pledges, as well as recent legislation which introduces a statutory duty on employers to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.
The new Labour government has set out ambitious plans for employment law and this webinar will clarify what employers need to have on their radar, what seems to have been sidelined and how all of this could impact.
The agenda will cover:
- Labour’s plan to make work pay: Key proposals such as expanding day one rights, the banning of ‘exploitative’ zero-hour contracts and the outlawing of fire and re-hire.
- Sexual harassment in the workplace: As of 26 October 2024, employers have a new duty to prevent sexual harassment at work, based on the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s guidance.
- Q&A
