Harts of Stur held its latest centenary store event on Saturday July 6. The Burgers and Boogie Woogie event reflected a barbecue and outdoor entertaining theme while supporting the town’s UK Boogie Woogie Festival, of which Harts were main sponsors.
Crowds flocked to the store on a beautifully warm and sunny summer’s day. Around five hundred locally-sourced centenary burgers were cooked and handed out to an appreciative audience. A delicious boogie woogie relish was specially created for the event by Mark Hartstone, proprietor of La Fosse at Cranborne.
Live music was provided by Christophe and Bruno, aka The French Boogie Woogie Boys who played a fantastic set of foot-tapping boogie woogie. Often playing the same piano at the same time, the duo played an infectious set which got people up and dancing, despite the soaring temperatures. Christophe and Bruno were also joined by French youngster Nirek Mokar (a muscical maestro of just 16 years of age.)
The UK Boogie Woogie Festival, now in its 15th year, attracts visitors from all over the world, with many concerts taking place in unorthodox venues such as the town’s mill and church.
