CellarDine was among those taking part in the centenary celebrations of Camp Hopson, Newbury, which took place between September 30 and October 3. The store hosted activities and customer give-aways, including 10 reward points for every £1 spent in its Home Store.
Barware expert CellarDine’s managing director Peter Dunne was invited to provide some “shop theatre” on October 1 by demonstrating bestselling wine and bar accessories, as well as giving away “wine tips” booklets, and contributing to the day’s raffle.
“100 years is a superb milestone for such a wonderful store,” said Peter. “It was great to catch up with customers and Camp Hopson fantastic staff . Thanks to Anne, Heather and the team!”
Now part of the Morley’s Group, Camp Hopson was founded in 1921 after the marriage of Nora Camp and Paul Hopson. Commenting in The Newbury Weekly News, the store’s general manager Madeleine Thompson said: “We’re all very excited about this anniversary; the fact that the shop is still trading after 100 years shows the loyalty our customers have to us.”
