Candlelight celebrates 50th with iconic relaunch

Celebrating 50 years in 2022, Candlelight, is proud to be re-launching the company’s iconic, amber kitchen storage jars to commemorate the special milestone.

“Our original amber range was launched in 1979, proving to be exceptionally successful, for many decades,” explains marketing manager Kate Winch, the daughter of founder and owner Mike Winch.  “We have chosen to re-launch this range to commemorate our 50th anniversary, as it is perfect for the vintage amber trendthat is about to explode. This retro range of amber storage is coming full circle and is back full of life in 2022, just as fresh as it was in the 1980s.”

Continues Kate: “As the famous Chanel quote suggests, ‘fashion passes; style remains’. This was one of the most successful stylish commodity storage ranges of the ‘80s and ‘90s, available from distributors around the world, especially Germany, the USA and Scandinavia as well as the UK. Early indications confirm the relaunch to the market is selling out of the stores at an astounding rate.”

Adds Mike Winch: “As we celebrate this milestone, we can’t wait to find out what the next 50 years will bring. We are both proud and privileged to be able to celebrate this golden anniversary with the re-launch of the range.”

Based in Aldwarke, South Yorkshire, Candlelight was born out of the 1972 miners’ strike, when Mike Winch had the enterprising idea of selling homemade decorated candles to local independent stores out of a farm building.

Since then, the family owned and run company has evolved into a market leading designer and wholesale supplier of home accessories, design-led giftware, florals and fragrance the retail market.
