Connect SPRING –the virtual event by The International Housewares Association (IHA) continues this week (to March 26), including keynote sessions, IHA market watch presentations and themed virtual product demonstrations.
The Spherificator by Cedarline Culinary is among the highlights for the theme of creative cooking. The gadget transforms food and liquid into “caviar” pearls with the Spherificator. Meanwhile, Revolution Cooking presents the ‘world’s first digital, touchscreen toaster’. With InstaGLOW heating technology, users can select exactly how they want food toasted, with photos illustrating results of the option selected.
The importance of space saving is addressed by the Moha! Foldable Potato Masher from Widgeteer, and Mircoplane’s Etched Jar Lid Grater Set is also put to the test, with its fine and ribbon blades covering a multitude of grating options.
Unsurprisingly, home hygiene is another topic of interest. The Honey-Can-Do UV Light Sanitation Storage Case reportedly uses UVC LEDs to remove up to 99.9% of germs, bacteria and viruses from personal items such as phones without heat or chemicals in just 90 seconds. The iRyno toothbrush sanitizer from Knectek Labs also uses a UVC light to eliminate bacteria and microorganisms that can collect on a toothbrush. It also dries the toothbrush bristles with a built-in fan to prevent mould growth.
Reflecting the rise of outdoor living, Wolf ‘Em Sticks from Campfire Industries have a rotary handle, which is designed for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, while the bonus biscuit attachment makes small biscuit cups that can be filled with dessert or dinner filling.
Continuing the outdoor party, the Drinktanks KegCap is an interchangeable cap, designed specifically for DrinkTanks growlers, that turns the growler into a mini beer keg. The cap features an easy-pour nozzle and a CO2 injector and intake valve intended to pressurise the growler and deliver the perfect amount of carbonation to the beer.
