David Mellor reimagines 60s toast rack

The newly reissued stainless steel toast rack has been recreated from an original 1961 David Mellor design.

The toast rack was originally created for Walker & Hall, where David Mellor worked as a design consultant after studying at the Royal College of Art. Previously produced exclusively in silver plate, this new edition is now being made in polished heavyweight stainless steel.

Costing £69, a contemporary titanium-coated grey version is also available for £75. Taking in two generations of Mellor modernism, this reissue is perfectly in keeping with the company’s finest design traditions.

The toast rack forms part of the award-winning David Mellor stainless steel tableware range, designed by Corin Mellor. The full range includes cafetieres, teapots, cream jugs, sugar pots, coffee scoops and trays.
