Denby has started a major new phase in its history by commencing the production of porcelain at its Derbyshire headquarters and manufacturing site. The brand is building on its extensive ceramics expertise; it has pioneered its uniquely-glazed and highly durable stoneware pottery for over 200 years.
Described as ‘light-weight, fine and strong,’ Denby’s Made in England Porcelain Collection includes a classic White, a Blue and White Arc relief pattern and a Modern Deco pattern. The ranges – currently being sold by John Lewis – will roll out into more stockists in 2022.

Produced in a separate part of Denby’s manufacturing site, Denby Porcelain shares the same environmental attributes as the brand’s stoneware. Denby claims to be the first UK pottery to be zero to landfill on process waste and its holds ISO 1400, meaning sustainability and the care of the environment form an integrated part of the production process and management decision making.
“With this new launch, Denby remains true to the appeal of its brand – its ‘styled by life’ philosophy; its product stories; extensive heritage; made in England provenance; true craftsmanship along with innovative and excellent design are all still at the heart of the Denby business,” states Hayley Baddiley, global marketing director at Denby Pottery.
* Denby recently opened Denby China’s first offices in Shanghai to build the brand and distribute its ceramics to a new market – taking china to China!
