With UK housewares suppliers and retailers among those stepping up efforts to support people whose lives are threatened in Ukraine, The Dexam Trust has made a considerable donation to The Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal led by the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC).
The Dexam Trust was set up by Dexam to support the local community and those in need. Bryony Dyer, Dexam’s managing director comments: “The intense conflict in Ukraine continues to force people to flee their homes and cross the border into neighbouring countries. We are a people-orientated company and in times of crisis, we do what we can to support those who need it the most through The Dexam Trust.”
Bryony acknowledges: “The DEC is helping people with their immediate needs while also planning to support refugees and displaced people over the coming months and years.”
* The DEC brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of crisis overseas. Pooling their resources to work as one, they are pivotal in co-ordinating the UK public’s response to overseas disasters, getting aid to people who need it. The Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal reached £200 million in the two weeks since it was launched – the equivalent of £3 for every person in the UK.
