Following the success of its existing collections, Dexam has launches two new ranges in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).
The Birds and Gertrude Jekyll textile ranges are now in stock and are made from organic cottons, which are kinder to the environment as the process uses less water, reduces soil erosion and doesn’t use hazardous manmade pesticides.
Both of the new prints were sourced directly from the RHS Lindley Collections, which houses the world’s finest collection of books and printed materials on gardening and outstanding collections of archives, photography and botanical art.
The Birds range has been inspired by nature and the design has a stone background, with a heritage inspired pattern featuring foliage and birds in teal, pink and yellow. The design is available in an adult apron, set of two tea towels, double oven gloves and peg bag.
Gertrude Jekyll (1843 – 1932) laid the basis for modern garden design and is credited with popularising an informal, naturalistic look in counterpoint to the rigid, formal landscapes of the Victorian era. She created 400 gardens in the UK, Europe and America. Her influence on garden design is pervasive and persists to this day.
Dexam celebrates her influence in its new Gertrude Jekyll range. The collection uses a tile pattern from the marble pavement of the Duomo in Millan. It is contrasted with a floral and leafy spray design. Both were taken from Jekyll’s Designs for Carving scrap book, dated 1866 – 1911.
Becky France, product executive of Dexam, commented: “We launched our RHS Benary Vegetables and Sunflower collections in 2022 and are pleased to be adding these two new ranges to our RHS portfolio this year. It is a delight to partner with the RHS and supporting its charitable work, we look forward to continuing our partnership with them.”
Cathy Snow, licensing manager at RHS, added: “These two new designs from Dexam perfectly demonstrate the versatility of the artwork held in our historical collections within the Lindley Library and how our imagery can be used in a bright, colourful and contemporary way. We are delighted with the continued success of our partnership with Dexam and the exceptionally creative way they apply our imagery on products.”
