EIH finalists are “jumping for joy”

Housewares suppliers are expressing their delight following the announcement of the Excellence in Housewares Awards Product finalists this week.

EIH_Finalists“We are jumping with joy after being named a finalist in the Top of the Table category thanks to Spode’s extraordinary new collection, Creatures of Curiosity,” enthuses Sara Dickenson, Portmeirion Group’s senior brand manager for Spode. “This launch marks a new era for Spode and has been rapturously welcomed by customers and buyers across the globe. For the Creatures of Curiosity range to now be recognised by the Excellence in Housewares Awards is fantastic news and we very much look forward to the Awards.”

As a finalist for the Licensing Award for Spode’s Morris & Co, Sara acknowledges that this is “a wonderful celebration of British heritage design. With over 400 years of history combined, these two brands are shining the light on the legacy of British design and innovation. It’s now made all the more special by being named a finalist in the Excellence in Housewares Awards during Morris & Co’s 160th anniversary year.”

Mark Hordern, director at Iona Buchanan comments: “We are absolutely thrilled to be a finalist in the Excellence in Housewares Awards.  We are a very small, relatively new company and it is wonderful to be included in such exalted company.  Developing our Bread Warmers was an act of faith because they were unheard of in the UK and we had no way to assess how they would be received.  Just being selected as a finalist in these awards is fabulous endorsement of our belief that they would be popular.”

At Barista & Co director James Gray exclaims: “This is great news! We have been getting some amazing reviews for the Core All Grind from consumers, but it is really special to know buyers and retailers feel the same. Even better news as it is our first electrical product but more are coming!”

Meanwhile Grant Race, global marketing director for DKB Household says: “Just got news of our nominations for no less that three categories for Zyliss. This is great news and we are all delighted. We worked hard to keep newness on track throughout the pandemic and it is wonderful to be recognised. Fingers crossed for the finals.”

Also looking forward to October 6, Lucie Taff, head of product and brands at Pure Table Top states: “We are delighted to have reached the finals of the Excellence in Housewares Awards with our Country Cottage range of dinnerware created under license for Joules.”
