Excellence In Housewares Awards 2020: Product Category finalists revealed

The outstanding line-up of product finalists for the Excellence in Housewares Awards 2020 is revealed today. In this exceptional year, there are eight finalists for each of the product categories, reflecting the heightened entry-level via Max Publishing’s new online entry portal which headed-off logistical issues arising from COVID-19.

The winners will be revealed on the evening of Wednesday 9 December 2020, with sponsors currently in consultation about a safe but exciting resolution as to how the industry will celebrate this year’s winners.

The product finalists were decided after a stellar panel of retail buyers cast their votes. Participating retailers included John Lewis, Lakeland, Robert Dyas, ProCook, Borough Kitchen, Harts of Stur, Aldiss, Trevor Mottram, Divertimenti, Dinghams, and a host of independent specialists from across the country. One of the many enthusiastic judges Emmie Brookman, from online boutique Silver Mushroom told HousewaresNews.net: “It was so hard to decide with so many lovely products. I learnt a lot and it was exciting to see new categories. There is a lot of healthy competition out there!”

Rob Willis, director at Max Publishing which owns and organises The Excellence In Housewares Awards said: “It’s a true testament to this fantastic sector that despite all the challenges otherwise, entry levels were fantastic – and of amazing quality, whilst retail judges were only too keen to spend much time selecting the top finalists for this year.

As such, we have decided to expand to eight finalists for each product category, which is especially interesting with new Licensing Award, which has proved that brand-licensed and celebrity endorsed product resonates hugely at consumer level. We can’t wait to reveal the winners in December!”
