Excellence in Housewares Awards 2022 countdown continues, as host is confirmed

With less than a month to go until Wednesday 5 October, the final touches for the Excellence in Housewares Awards 2022 are being put in place – with the host of the event being confirmed.

Sara Barron (pictured) will be in charge of the evening’s proceedings at the Royal Lancaster Hotel next month.

One of the fastest rising comedians of her generation, since her 2018 debut at Edinburgh Fringe, she has appeared on shows such as Would I Lie to You?, Live at the Apollo, and Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, among others.

For Worse (2018) and Enemies Close (2019) – Sara’s two stand up hours at the Edinburgh Festival, have sold out both there and at multiple runs in London’s Soho Theatre. Sara was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and at the Chortle Awards, as well as receiving rave reviews from publications including The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Evening Standard and The Scotsman.

Further television credits include 8 Out of 10 Cats, Hypothetical, Richard Osman’s House of Games, Alan Davies’ As Yet Untitled, Roast Battle and Hello, America. On radio, her credits include appearances on The News Quiz, The Now Show and Woman’s Hour on Radio 4.

As a writer, Sara has published two essay collections, People are Unappealing and The Harm in Asking. Her writing has also featured in Vanity Fair and on This American Life.

The Excellence in Housewares Awards will be taking place on Wednesday 5 October, 2022 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.
