A gallery of photographs from the 80s Electric Dreams themed Excellence in Housewares Awards night on Thursday October 3 can now be viewed, and images can be downloaded. The photo gallery is proudly sponsored by Imperial and its non-stick cookware brand, Eaziglide.

The gallery spans the glamorous champagne reception, pre-awards activities, stand-up comedian Tania Edwards, the glorious winners’ presentations and the fun-packed post awards party. The latter included cocktails courtesy of KitchenAid and a glitter station, courtesy of HousewaresNews.net, which added extra sparkle to a great many members of the housewares industry (and some glittery additions to the Awards’ Twitter Wall).

Retro props for the night included a giant ‘Fab’ lolly, giant cassette tape and the enormous beatbox, which provided the setting for the Excellence in Housewares trophies as well as the venue for the party DJ. Guests at the Awards enjoyed stepping back in time with a soundtrack of 80s classic songs.

Highlights of the evening included the presentation of the Honorary Achievement Award to the retired ceo of bira, Alan Hawkins. Multiple award winners included Horwoods, Joseph Joseph, Robert Welch Designs and Potters Cookshop, while new winners included Barista & Co from nixxee, Mepal from Mistral Brands, House UK, Dawsons and Hobbs the Kitchen Shop.
