Get the blues in 2020

Pantone has announced that its next colour of the year is Classic Blue. A classic colour for kitchens and related accessories, Pantone says the colour ‘highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.’

It is also said to foster a sense of peace and tranquillity. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute comments: “We are living in a time that requires trust and faith It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue.”  She describes the colour as “evocative of the vast and infinite evening sky.”

 

Top: Classic Blue is said to instil calm and confidence.
