The Inspired Home Show and the International Housewares Association (IHA), the global sponsors and organisers of the IHA Global Innovation Awards (gia) programme announced the 2022 gia Global Honorees for Retail Excellence on Saturday (March 5) at the gia Awards night in Chicago.
In addition to the 2022 Global Honorees, the 2020 gia Retail Global Honorees and the 2021 gia Top Window award winners were honoured at the livestreamed gia awards dinner. The event was attended by Harrod’s homewares buyer Margaret Osei-Bonsu and assistant buyer Lyn Walsh, who received their trophy for the 2021 gia Top Window Award (large store).
The five gia retail Global Honorees for 2022 are:
Argentina – Paul French Gallery
Brazil – Westwing Brasil
France – La Maison Pernoise
Taiwan – hengstyle HENG LEONG HANG CO
USA – Butler’s Pantry
The global gia jury, consisting of four retail/visual merchandising experts and seven editors and publishers of co-sponsoring housewares trade publications from around the world, selected the gia Global Honorees from the winners previously chosen in their respective countries by the national gia sponsors.
The gia Awards night also saw the presentation of the Martin M Pegler Award for Excellence in Visual Merchandising to HomeTown – by Praxis Home Retail of India, and the gia Digital Commerce Award for Excellence in Online Retailing to MAKE Designed Objects of Australia.
The national gia winners (including current UK winner Jarrold) were also applauded at the gia Awards, with a worldwide audience watching its livestreaming. They were also featured in the unmissable gia display at The Inspired Home Show in the walkway connecting the Grand Concourse and Lakeside Centre. Both gia national winners and Global Honorees are also recognised in a gallery on TheInspiredHomeShow.com/Awards/gia-Retailing.
