Judges (including HousewaresNews.net contributor, Sue Marks) had some tough choices when considering over 1100 entries for the Gift of the Year Awards (GOTY), organised by The Giftware Association, The first round of online judging has resulted in a shortlist across 20 categories, including Kitchen & Dining.
The Kitchen & Dining shortlist includes History & Heraldry’s Bamboo Eco Mug, Cherry Orchard’s Wot a Mug, and the Muggi cup holder. Also on a drinks theme, the list includes Gin Time from Dartington Crystal, Half Moon Bay’s Game of Thrones Premium Shot Glass Set and Please Pour me a…Drinks Board from Katie Cardew Illustrations. The Just Slate Company’s Etched Animal Boards from Selbrae House, T&G’s Ocean range, and Winter in Venice’s Sugar Candy Mixing Bowl are also on the shorlist.
Meanwhile, Bee Green Wraps are in the Ethical Gift category, Abbeyhorn’s Horn Viking Mug is in Design & Craft, and the ‘£10 and under’ category features Dartington Crystal’s Whisky Experience glass and the Tablet Stand for Your Kitchen from IF (That Company Called). Meanwhile, Food & Drink includes the Baking Club Gift Subscription, encouraging keen and wannabe home bakers.
The next stage of the competition will be a live judging day in January where the judges will see the products and make their final selections.
The winners from the live judging day will be kept under wraps and announced on the first evening of Spring Fair, Sunday February 3, at an all-inclusive ceremony on the main stage in Hall 20.
Everyone is invited to the free awards presentation giving buyers and retailers an opportunity to meet the people behind the products.
