Gift of the Year’s housewares finalists

Innovative housewares and foodie gifts are strongly represented in the Gift of The Year (GOTY) 2022 finalists. Announced by The Giftware Association, the finalists for The Kitchen & Dining Award and other GOTY categories are the result of a live judging day that took place last week at Spring Fair.

The six finalists in the Kitchen & Dining award are: Ambit Mugs and Beakers by Sue Ure Maison, Art in a Glass from Original Products, Halo Cotton Dish Covers by Clayspoon, Insulated Snack Pot by Puckator, Ocean Olive Wood Coasters by Samantha Lois Illustrations and The Tableware Collection from Concrete & Wax.

Puckator’s ‘on the go’ innovations also feature in the Contempary Gift category, where the Reusable Folding Water Bottle is a finalist. Another single-use alternative, Faye UK’s Eco Chic Thermal Coffee Cup is in the new International award. Sustainable living is a significant trend for the awards, for example, Little Beau Sheep’s Laundry Balls in Home and Garden plus My Gift of All Time categories.

Other housewares in the GOTY finals include the Phenomenal Women Mug, part of a thought-provoking collection by Talking Tables (in Contemporary Gift).

Meanwhile, the Pet Gift category is dominated by home baking, featuring three different kits to make homemade dog treats (from Rex London, Kelso and Titch and The Bottled Baking Company). Growing and making food and drink are recurring themes, for example with Gin Etc’s Gin Makers’ Kits in both the Design & Craft and Food & Drink categories. The latter also features Spice Kitchen’s Indian Spice Tin with Nine Spices and Silk Sari Wrap, while the Novelty category includes a Heinz Grow Your Own Tomatoes Kit from Kimm & Miller.

The GOTY winners and highly commended products will be announced at The Gift Awards atLondon’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on Thursday 12 May.

The awards event ceremony will bring together the GA’s Gift of the Year Awards and The Greats gift retailer awards –- organised and owned by Max Publishing.

Gift of the Year finalists are also in with a chance of winning the coveted Judges Choice award. There will also be a People’s Choice award which is voted for by the general public and is open to all shortlisted products this year.
