The finalists of the product and retail categories of the Excellence in Housewares Awards are continuing to celebrate, expressing the timely importance of their industry recognition.
“We’re delighted Botanic Garden is a finalist for the Icon Award,” states Diane Clark, brand manager on behalf of Portmeirion Group marketing team. “As one of the first designs Portmeirion launched, Botanic Garden means a huge amount to us as a business, and we can’t think of a better time to be nominated than on the 50thanniversary of its launch, what a fantastic way for the collection to be commemorated! Thank you to everyone involved in nominating us; we’re truly thankful to be a finalist for this highly regarded award.”
On hearing the news that Harts of Stur is a finalist in several retail awards categories, managing director Graham Hart comments: “Everyone at Harts is over the moon to be nominated as a finalist in three categories at this year’s Excellence in Housewares Awards – Excellence in Online Retailing, Retail Training and Independent Cookshop of the Year, especially with both aspects of our business, in-store and online, being recognised.”
He reflects: “This year has been a hard year for everyone at Harts with the passing of my father Philip, but all have worked their socks off to support one another, and these nominations are well deserved.”
Meanwhile, Holly Wilson, owner of Prep Cookshop and Richard Dare in North London says that the joint nomination for Independent Cookshop of the Year is “a really lovely way to start the final quarter.” Looking forward to the industry gathering for the EIH Awards night on October 5, Holly says that she is “very proud of Fatima [manager of Richard Dare] for being nominated for Retail Employee of the Year, which is extremely well deserved.”
