“Great coffee has become an everyday essential,” says Melitta

“The domestic coffee machine market will continue to grow as consumers have become accustomed to high quality coffee in the home”, acknowledges Nigel Morrison, consumer and trade marketing manager at Melitta UK. The trend for home ownership of high quality coffee machines has been accelerated by lockdowns.

“Many commuters missed their morning coffee the most when not travelling to work, and even if people return to the office, great coffee has now become an everyday essential at home, rather than a luxury,” says Nigel.

Reflecting the growing market and consumer interest, Melitta launched its second automated electric pour over coffee machine this year – the epour, which follows the first of its kind, the EPOS machine’s launch in 2020.

“It’s never been easier to make pour over coffee,” says Nigel of the new machine. “The water spout, which rotates 360° and changes the direction and water flow depending on the brewing profile, ensures the coffee is optimally and quickly dampened as if by hand.”

Melitta also recognises the enduring appeal of coffee shop classics with its new LatteSelect –a fully automated bean to cup coffee machine with options to select espresso, café crème, cappuccino and latte macchiato as well as personalised favourite brews such as a lungo, americano or espresso macchiato via the machine’s My Coffee memory function.

“The Italian preparation process also ensures an authentic taste as the ingredients are combined in the right order using an original Italian recipe,” notes Nigel.
