The Tefal owner has teamed up with local charity Windsor Foodshare to provide support to households who are at risk of going hungry.
The partnership kicked off in January this year, with Groupe Seb donating over £3,000 towards fresh fruit and vegetables for members of the local community who are in need, as well as donating over £500 worth of of Tefal products, which went towards fundraising efforts and were also used as Christmas gifts for families.
Employees of Groupe Seb have also organised food collections in the Datchet office, and volunteered time to help organise and distribute to local families. In the coming months, employees will also be involved with volunteering days, the provision of healthy recipes, and cookery demos and participation in the Windsor Homeless Sleepout in October.
Windsor Foodshare provides short-term weekly help in the form of food parcels containing ambient foods, bread, eggs, fruit and vegetables where there is a likelihood of an individual or family going hungry due to lack of funds.
Cristophe Leblan, managing director for the UK and Ireland at Groupe Seb, commented: “Our mission as Tefal is to ensure we make life happier, healthier and easier, by making home life simpler and smarter. But at the moment, we know that isn’t the reality for many households in the UK as the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite.
“As a brand, we have been supporting consumers with our production solutions for over 60 years and now we want to ensure we are doing something to support people and especially those so close by to us in Berkshire. We are proud to support Windsor Foodshare and the important work they are doing at this time.”
Tim Allison, treasurer at Windsor Christian Action, said: “We are delighted to have worked with the team at Groupe Seb and are very grateful for their generous donation which makes a real difference to people in Windsor who are struggling to buy food.”
