Horwood: Why I sponsor the Excellence in Housewares Awards

Richard Sharp, head of marketing at Horwood tells why supporting the EIHA helps to recognise the the work happening in the industry as a whole.

Why do you sponsor the Excellence in Housewares Awards?

Richard: “We’re really keen to support the industry in a meaningful way and help to recognise the outstanding work that is happening in stores and businesses throughout the UK.”

Why did Horwood choose Best Garden Centre as the category it would sponsor?

Richard: “We think garden centres are a sector of huge growth and potential for housewares. The Judge brand has had some notable success with our garden centre partners, it so it was an obvious choice for us to align with this particular category.”

What’s your favourite thing about the awards?

Richard: “Apart from the obvious opportunity to have some fun with colleagues and friends,  you always come away having learnt a little bit more about what is happening in the industry – you rarely will find so many people from such a broad spectrum of backgrounds in the same room, so the conversation is always really fascinating.”

Why do you think housewares companies and retailers should attend the awards?

Richard: “I have realised since starting my career in housewares in 2020 that the industry really is warm, friendly and supportive. These awards really bring that to life and it’s just a great way to meet people from across the category. Of course, it’s also important that we all celebrate our successes and this is the perfect way to do it.”
