Horwood’s Grant Simmonds (responsible for sales in the South West) has retired after 49 years of service at the company.
James Robinson, Horwood’s marketing manager reflects and pays tribute: “Grant joined us back in 1970, starting in the warehouse and soon climbed the ranks and settled into a sales role. The last 30 years he has cared and nurtured his customers in the South West as if they were family.”
He adds: “Please join us in celebrating Grant’s work and wishing him all the best in his retirement.”
Grant spent his last day at work in the unconventional setting of a north Somerset beach. He was part of the Smidge team that took part in the big beach clean in conjunction with The Marine Conservation Society on Tuesday (June 25). Grant and colleagues helped to pick up a whopping 65 kilos of plastic!
After the day of beach cleaning, the team fittingly continued to celebrate Grant’s final day into the early hours at Clevedon Walton Park Hotel.
