Housewares among Amazon’s ‘destroyed’ goods

Cutlery and electrical goods were among the millions of items of unsold stock that are destroyed by Amazon, according to ITV News (June 22), which showed images of good earmarked for destruction taken at Amazon’s Dunfermline warehouse.

The news story tracked lorries taking unsold and returned products from the warehouse to recycling centres and a landfill site. An ex-employee was interviewed, highlighting the destruction of Dyson fans and Hoovers and saying that “There’s no rhyme or reason to what gets destroyed.”
