Huski Home and Smeg serve sustainable breakfast

Huski Home teamed up with Smeg to present a Breakfast for Sustainability event last week (January 22). Journalists and influencers gathered in the kitchen theatre at Smeg’s London store to hear sustainability coach Melodie Tyler and create their own ‘Instagram-perfect’ breakfast bowl, using Huski Home’s coconut shell bowls.

Attending titles included The Times, The Telegraph, Good Housekeeping, Delicious and ITV, “We had an amazing turnout and incredible response,” reports Lisa Scott, co-founder and director of Huski Home.

Journalists and influencers competed to create the best breakfast bowl – with the best winning a Smeg blender – and “everyone loved the sustainable starter kit which contained beauty, kitchen, home and food products,” says Lisa.

Huski Home’s Instagram followers have increased by a thousand within a week of the event thanks to influencer coverage, and media coverage for the brand is due to follow from some of the attending consumer titles.

Huski Home first collaborated with Smeg to create Smeg branded versions of the travel cups created from waste rice husks – something that the many tourists visiting the shop could easily purchase. “Smeg make amazing quality, durable products so it’s a good fit,” reflects Lisa.
