IFA Berlin 2024 attracts an 18% increase in visitors

IFA Berlin welcomed over 1,800 exhibitors to its 100th anniversary edition this year from 6-10 September at Messe Berlin.
The 2024 show attracted more than 215,000 visitors from 138 countries. Over 150 speakers at the show included execs from SharkNinja, Miele, and more. Visitor numbers were up 18%, with a surge in visitors from the US, Italy, France, Poland, Korea and the UK.

Leif Lindner, ceo of IFA Berlin Management, said: “What a wonderful 100th birthday party for IFA, and what an amazing year for the world’s leading technology trade fair. We are really grateful to all our industry, all trade visitors, the public and all the media who came to Berlin and truly made IFA 100 a year and an event to remember. We are satisfied with the huge number of commitments already from our exhibitors to participate at IFA 2025.”

Dr Sara Warneke, md of gfu Consumer & Home Electronics which owns the IFA brand, added: “IFA 100 has exceeded all our expectations. We can see that the changed concept of IFA is working, in no small part due to the fact that young media professionals and content creators in particular were able to inspire their generation for IFA. The feedback from our partners, exhibitors, the retail industry and of course all visitors is unanimous. IFA 100 has been a huge success for them, for their business and for our industry. This year, IFA has proven to be truly the platform for the next 100 years.”

Jenny Stewart, commercial director, Ultimate Products, commented: “It was so exciting to be able to showcase the Beldray rebrand and our brand-new look to the industry for the first time, after a sneak peek reveal back in summer. Our bright core colours and fun branding received a particularly warm welcome from both consumers and retailers, creating an eye-catching display to showcase some of our new products.
“The Airfinity Vacuum Cleaner gained a lot of traction, with brand new tangle-free technology and sleek precision cleaning integrations. Our new Compact SpotBuster was also a crowd pleaser, offering high-performance spot cleaning at an affordable price point. Our teams worked so hard to pull off a really impressive stand, including some really creative ways to display our products.
“Salter focussed on co-ordination, displaying fully co-ordinated bays across kettles, toasters and coordinating countertop electricals such as microwaves, blenders and more. Highlighting to consumers and retailers just how easy it can be to update the whole kitchen and keep on-trend, with a colour and finish perfect for every home.
“Our newly launched Pebble co-ordinated range gained a lot of traction, with its smooth curves and two contemporary colourways. The brand new VertiCook Air Fryer also gained a lot of attention thanks to its compact, space saving design and large capacity. It was another great year for both Salter and Beldray, meeting with customers old and new and exploring lots of exciting opportunities.”

Rod Burrows, director of marketing, RKW, commented: “We always look forward to IFA every year and this time was no different. Seeing all the other businesses is always a great opportunity for us to see what is happening in the industry and it is always great to be in a space full of other passionate minds.

“It’s also a great chance to catch up with our existing customers and welcome new ones. This year we launched multiple products at the show and we are already seeing the impact of this.

“This included announcing Tower’s latest partnership with Good Food, the UK’s largest media brand. We’re confident this will be a force in the small cooking appliance and housewares market and we can’t wait to see where it takes us. Another highlight at IFA was the Swan x Lynsey collection. The all-pink range in collaboration with online cleaning mogul Lynsey Crombie turned heads at the event. This builds upon our previous range in 2022, but with all new products and designs, expanding upon the success in style.

“We are so proud of all our brands and products, so having the opportunity to showcase them and share what’s new is something we always enjoy.

“Looking ahead, RKW is focused on expanding into the European market. We’re committed to driving innovation in the industry and continuing Tower’s mission to become the leading supplier of small domestic appliances and housewares.

Hira Ibrahim, general manager, My VQ, added: “IFA 2024, what a whirlwind of activity it was for us. Our stand at IFA Berlin quickly became a hub for people eager to explore our latest innovations and collaborations. While reading customer reviews online is one thing, witnessing the genuine joy on people’s faces as they experienced our products in person was truly special.

“The warm responses, shared stories and excitement from everyone left us more inspired than ever. One of our upcoming products, Halo, made a special appearance and the excitement around this innovative speaker was palpable. Our cherished China Rose, Bees, and the exclusive Wild Meadow collections also captivated many, drawing a steady stream of admirers throughout the event.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with both industry leaders and our cherished customers, hearing firsthand what truly matters to them. These moments of connection are what fuel our passion and drive us forward. We’re excited to carry the ideas and friendships we’ve nurtured at IFA into our future projects.

“This experience has only strengthened our commitment to creating products that not only perform beautifully, but also bring joy and beauty into everyday life. We can’t wait to see where these new ideas and connections will take us next.”

Tom Brown, president of SharkNinja EMEA, said: “It’s a privilege to be here at IFA in Berlin and be part of the 100th anniversary celebrations. At SharkNinja, we’re dedicated to positively impacting people’s lives in every home around the world.

“To maintain the rapid expansion into new countries and categories in EMEA, we’ve unveiled several new exciting and innovative products today. Our latest innovations, such as our all-in-one coffee maker, new Power Detect vacuum line-up including the new Robot Vacuum, and the new SLUSHi frozen drinks maker address everyday challenges with consumer problem solving solutions. We’re excited to offer these products, which uphold Shark and Ninja’s reputation for performance, quality, and value, to our growing EMEA customer base.”

IFA 2025 takes place: September 5– 9 in Berlin.
