IHA announces its Innovation Theatre schedule

Taking place from 4-7 March, 2023, at McCormick Place in Chicago, The Inspired Home Show will be home to a range of sessions in the Innovation Theatre, exploring topics such as inflation’s influence on the housewares consumer, directional dining and drinking trends, purchasing in a digital world, new packaging concepts, looking at history to forecast the future for housewares, export operations, procedures and compliance, and the state of the travel goods industry.

The Innovation Theatre continues its commitment to bring relevant, topical and actionable content to the show as at a time when the housewares industry wants and needs such information. The theatre is located in room E350 in the Hall of Global Innovation in the Lakeside Centre. Sessions will be held from Saturday to Monday.

Saturday 4 March kicks off with Anita Desai, head of home and living at TikTok, discussing Discovery to purchase in a digital world. Other sessions include 2024 Householder trends: A view of the year with Kate Usher of TrendBible.

On Sunday 5 March, sessions start with Peter Greene of Numerator, discussing Inflation’s Influence on Housewares Consumer Behaviour. Consumer insight expert Leigh Ann Schwarzkopf of Project Partners Network will then host Food and Flavour 2023-4: Directional Dining and Drinking Trends and the Home and Housewares Consumer.

Beth Goldstein of the NPD Group will then examine how pandemic related consumer behaviours and priorities are impacting the US travel goods market in State of the US travel goods industry. Then Gran Groesbeck of the Cookware and Bakeware Alliance will lead a panel discussion on PFAS regulation and housewares update.

On Monday 6 March, the NPD Group returns with Joe Derochowski leading Back to the future: Looking at history to forecast the future of housewares. Next is New directions in licensing and branding: Essentials for businesses of every size and shape, with a panel of experts.

Concluding Monday is New opportunities to connect with customers with GIA expert judges Wolfgang Gruschwitz, Scott Kohno and Henrik Peter Reisby Nielsen.
