Dualit has won the ‘best overall’ title in The Independent’s popular review section, IndyBest’s top toaster and kettle sets.
The team at IndyBest said they brewed ‘many many cups of tea and browned more slices of toast than strictly necessary’ to come up with the shortlist. To make sure no products were missed, the team tested appliances sold separately within the same collection, as well as those sold as bundles.
Kettles were scored on their boiling volume, speed and how easy they were to lift and clean. Toasters were checked for how well they browned two slices of toast on the ‘middle’ settings, while extra points were given for additional features like bagel settings and crumb trays.
Aesthetics and value for money were also considered.
