Lakeland on ‘playing to win’

The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) is hosting a networking webinar with Lakeland next Tuesday, November 24 at 2.30pm.     The online forum will feature Philippa Simons, head of buying and Scott Jefferson, Lakeland’s commercial director.

Philippa and Scott will be sharing details about Lakeland’s ‘Playing to Win’ category strategy, which is a plan for product over the next three years.  This will include information highlighting the categories seen as winners; and those which will be reduced or remain with more static, but credible ranges.

The webinar will also cover off Lakeland’s approach to trading in the pandemic, the trends emerging as a result, and the steps that the retailer is taking to adapt.  An example is the rising importance of Eco in terms of products and packaging.  Lakeland’s membership of WRAP and its efforts to reduce the use of plastic packaging, together with the challenges which must addressed will be discussed.  Afterwards, delegates will be able to ask questions.

The BHETA Lakeland event will also include an opening address from BHETA’s chief operating officer, Will Jones, summarising the trade association’s member support activities during the pandemic and key focus moving forward.

Will commented: “BHETA has been working hard to provide members with advice and up to the minute information during this challenging time.  I am delighted to say it has also been able to maintain its programme of retailer example.  It is great to see Lakeland setting out the opportunities for the future.  There are many; and it’s good that BHETA can facilitate insights like these.”

To register for the Lakeland webinar or any of BHETA’s current or future events, contact Nicola Adams at the BHETA Member Services Team on 07946 078566, or alternatively, email on na@bheta.co.uk
