Travel might be on hold but Lakeland (via its website) is inviting its customers to share Prue Leith’s international culinary adventures with its exclusive new range – Prue’s World – accompanied by world food recipes by the TV personality.
Prue admits she has been a Lakeland customer for around 30 years and does not know a cook who does not shop with the specialist retailer. She approached the retailer to discuss creating her own range, which is inspired by her travels around the world, and the treasured pieces of cookware she has picked up on her way.
The range consists of kitchen tools and cookware such as the Karahi Pan (described by Prue as a “little wok” which “you can do anything in”). Prue’s favourites include her Japanese knives – “very sharp and efficient,” according to Prue, and her dumpling pan. Mouthwatering recipes that feature on Lakeland’s blog include Prue Leith’s Pork, Ginger and Sring Onion Dumplings and Warm Chappatis with Masala Scrambled Eggs.
In a Q&A for Lakeland, Prue takes about some of her other foodie favourites, with her current favourite ‘bake’ being the almond cake in her latest recipe book.
Meanwhile, Lakeland is providing consumers with plenty tips for life in lockdown via its social media posts, customer emails and its website ‘news’. Advice and inspiration includes making bread with limited ingredients, shortcuts for household cleaning, slow cooking recipes and celebrating birthdays via Facetime.
The kitchenware and homewares retailer is dispatching a limited number of orders each day to ensure that staff in its distribution centre can safely pick and pack respecting Government guidelines. It is also limited certain essentials to ensure that they are accessible to as many customers as possible.
