Miele GB’s category manager for kitchens, Tom Hopper, shares his predictions for what’s set to be big news in appliances in 2025.
Beige appliances
“Creating a warm and welcoming cocooning aesthetic is going to be a key kitchen trend in 2025,” said Tom Hopper, Miele GB category manager for kitchens. “Harnessing earthy and natural tones for both cabinetry and appliances. It’s a perfect way to embrace cooking and entertaining at home, creating a calming and soothing sanctuary in which to relax and unwind with family and friends.
“Miele is unveiling a new Pearl Beige colourway for its Artline range in November 2024, which is perfect for this forthcoming trend. The built-in ovens, steam combination ovens, microwave combination ovens, warming drawers and coffee machines will all feature a glossy surface with subtle glittering effect, designed to seamlessly integrate with both light and dark kitchens.”
Automatic cleaning
“Cooks who want and need to save time will be looking for appliances with automatic cleaning, as our lives become even more hectic and busy.”
Voice control
“There are many reasons why voice activated appliances have become hugely popular in recent years. They offer convenience and comfort as well as easy accessibility for those with disability or mobility needs and multi-generational households. They are also ideal for cooks who have their hands full.”
Invisible kitchens
“One of the biggest trends in kitchens for 2025 will be for ‘invisible’ kitchens, where clutter, cookware and crockery can be hidden out of sight for a sleek and seamless space perfect for entertaining or dining with the family.
“Along with pocket doors, tambour shutters, home bars, coffee stations and walk-in pantries, multifunctional appliances are a great way to keep work surfaces clutter-free. Miele’s built-in oven with AirFry function, combination microwave ovens and integrated coffee machines all remove the need for multiple countertop appliances taking up valuable space.”
Matt black appliances
“With over 191,000 #mattblack posts on Instagram, the trend for this sophisticated and elegant finish is set to be big news for 2025’s kitchens. As well as being ultra-practical, hiding grease and water spots, matt black finishes are sleek and luxurious, too.
Miele’s collection of built-in handleless appliances in a sleek Obsidian Matt black finish includes an oven, compact microwave combination oven, combination steam ovens, warming drawer and sous-vide drawer, coffee machines and wine storage.”
Wine storage
“Homeowners who love to entertain will be designing their own home bars in 2025, inviting guests to help themselves while they get on with the cooking. Miele’s new Freestanding Wine Conditioning Units are the perfect complement or alternative, with contemporary styling and premium wine preservation perfect for any wine connoisseur or aspiring sommelier.”
Energy efficient appliances
“2025 will also see an increase in consumers shopping sustainably, choosing products that save both water and energy to help the planet and the pocket. Miele’s eco-friendly appliances help to achieve this while also delivering the highest possible level of performance. Miele also prides itself on testing most of its appliances for 20 years use while being dedicated to sustainability throughout everything it does.”
