Nespresso officially started the construction of a new production hall at its coffee capsule factory in Romont, Switzerland last week (June 15). The project will see investment of over £125 million (CHF 160million). Nespresso says it is responding to increasing consumer demand for coffee capsules for its extensive range of coffee machines.
The construction of the second production hall at the factory (established in 2015) will double Nespresso’s production capacity and help supply 10 new lines dedicated to Nespresso Vertuo and Professional coffee ranges. The first new production lines are expected to be fully operational by June 2022.
The factory also houses a Product Development Centre and a Coffee Campus to help foster innovation and expertise.
