Pendeford Housewares has appointed Andy Smith in the newly created role of general manager. From an industrial manufacturing background, Andy brings a wealth of operational experience and expertise, particularly in the steel industry and bakeware applications, and will help to expand Pendeford’s UK manufacturing.
“I’m very pleased to be given the opportunity to utilise my expertise and production knowledge at a business that has been successfully operating for over 60 years,” comments Andy. “I’m excited by the challenge and looking forward to seeing our companies progression – implementing a number of initiatives and improvements over time, that will provide the groundwork to facilitate the continued growth of the business. We have a fantastic team and with their continued support and dedication, I’m certain that we can realise further success together”.
Pendeford’s managing director Lee Parkin (who bought the business last year) explains: “This newly created role is essential to help achieve our long term plans, with ‘Made in UK’ incredibly important to our company and our customers alike.”
Lee continues: “Andy will be instrumental to driving our site modernisation plans and production scaling capabilities, allowing us to offer more UK made goods. He will add tremendous value to our team and we are delighted to have him on board”.
